The Sutherland Brothers & Quiver. It was the result of a merger between two unknown folk bands – The Sutherland Brothers and Quiver. And that’s what amuses me. No one had heard of them anyway. They weren’t like The Supremes & The Temptations or Queen & David Bowie who were globally famous before they joined forces. The Sutherland Brothers, when they merged with Quiver, could have called themselves anything but no, they took the dull and democratic approach to nomenclature. But who cares? This was a wonderful, very 70s Top Ten hit but they never had another one. Either as The Sutherland Brothers, Quiver or both.
The name of this band has always amused me
