I’ve a feeling he might have done. Interviewed about his political views, he famously said, “I believe very strongly in fascism. The only way we can speed up the sort of liberalism that’s hanging foul in the air at the moment is a right-wing, totally dictatorial tyranny and get it over as fast as possible”. I think even The Donald might think twice before saying something like that. And yet The Dame went further. “A liberal wastes time saying, ‘Well, now, what ideas have you got?’ No. Show them what to do, for God’s sake. If you don’t, nothing will get done.” Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Would Bowie, as a US citizen, now be welcoming all the (ch-ch) changes that Trump has promised to make.
Would Bowie have played at Trump’s inauguration?
