First take a broom and pretend it’s a guitar…..

…… and that you’re Ronnie Wood. After 51 seconds turn it upside down and pretend you’re Rod Stewart. Myself and various brooms have had hours of fun pretending to be The Faces. To me, Ronnie Wood, who was 67 yesterday, is the archetypal rock star. I sat next to him once at the Sony Radio Awards and he was exactly how you’d want him to be, full of tales of 40-odd years playing guitar with two of the greatest bands ever. He was picking up an award for his cult show on Absolute Radio -“Best Newcomer”. How’s that for irony? The term “legend” is ludicrously over-used but in Ronnie Wood’s case, it’s richly deserved.
