…arrived this morning. From Christopher Biggins and his partner Neil, featuring the pair of them in festive garb. Biggins is one of the funniest, most generous people I know. He’s also a very fine actor but years ago decided to take a more light-hearted approach to his career because “It’s so much more fun, darling”. And he’s absolutely right. He knows everyone and is invited everywhere because he just radiates mirth and goodwill. I remember being crammed into the tiny flat of an impoverished playwright for one of his always disastrous dinner parties. Biggins and my wife were almost hyperventilating with laughter as the evening, predictably, went from bad to worse, culminating with the fridge packing up. But a few days later, John Lewis arrived with a brand new fridge, courtesy of Biggins. This is what I mean. No track with “Biggins” in the title so “Big in” will have to do.
