One appearance in one hit movie. When I say “appearance”, you can’t actually see me. I’m one of about 100 choirboys in a David Essex film called “Stardust”. He plays a rock star whose mother’s funeral is a very grand affair, hence a hundred of us bussed out to St Bernard’s Church in Northolt. At the core was a real choir called the Pueri Cantores run by a priest called Fr. Dangerfield but most of us were just making up the numbers. For payment we received “Stardust” the soundtrack double album, full of great 60s music including this far-out hippie anthem. I’m not sure the choirboys getting into drug-fuelled psychedelia was quite what Fr Dangerfield had in mind.
