It’s unbelievable – literally unbelievable – that they’re still the biggest band in the world. Of course they’re fantastic but wouldn’t you rather remember them from the last time they had a hit record and were officially “any good”?

…….but none the worse for that. At last, we have a sunshine day. Embrace it.

Bands were called “pop groups”. They didn’t play rock, soul, reggae or metal. They played pop music. Their hair was slightly long, their shirts slightly floral. I wanted to be a “pop star”. And….don’t tell anyone… I still do.

Some of you may not recognise the title. Or the artist. You will ALL recognise the chorus.

A lot of people have said good things about my snazzy new website. It was made in Walsall by some web geniuses called Jozo Creative. So which track best exemplifies the sound of the West Midlands? Not Black Sabbath, The Specials, UB40 or Led Zep. No, it has to be this forgotten gem….
