Because at Christmas, we’re all the same. Dickens put it very well: “I have always thought of Christmas time…..,as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time…..when men and women seem by one consent to open their hearts freely and think of people below them as fellow passengers to the grave and not another band of creatures bound on other journeys” People of all ages and social classes get to feel good in the same way about the same thing at the same time. Except of course those curmudgeonly souls who don’t like Christmas or whinge that it’s “too commercial”. And frankly, who cares what they think?
Why we wish it could be Christmas every day.
