Make that “former Brummie scumbag” for my old friend Frazer Jelleyman is a reformed character. After years abroad pursuing a successful career as a creative director, he is now a picture of urbane civility. He arrived in an elegant hand-tailored jacket which I’d have nicked if he’d left it unattended on his chair. All a far cry from the unshaven bloke in the office next door to me. Frazer, let’s just say, “enjoyed a night out” and I remember him bouncing up and down to this in some underground dive, wearing a Santa hat which he refused to take off. God only knows what was hidden under that hat and whether it had put him in the mood to party. Whatever it was, I doubt he had any in the pocket of that elegant hand-tailored jacket.
