And this morning, I reminded her that 30 years ago today, I went to the same place and saw Queen, Status Quo, Paul Weller, Ultravox, Elvis Costello, Phil Collins, George Michael, Spandau Ballet, The Who, Sting, Elton John, Bryan Ferry, U2, Dire Straits, Paul McCartney and David Bowie all on the same bill. This of course, was Live Aid, the biggest and most important rock concert in history. It changed music and the way we donate to charity forever. No praise is too great for Bob Geldof and for what he achieved. You could practically walk to Wembley Stadium from my flat so, given this privilege, it seemed obscene not to go. I was there and I’ll remember it till the day I die. Apparently, Ed Sheeran was fantastic. But could his concert – could any concert – ever be as good as this?
My daughter went to see Ed Sheeran at Wembley Stadium last night.
