It’s a documentary about a rock stars’ agent called Shep Gordon who’s led the sort of life that will make you feel you haven’t lived at all. Yes, it’s sex, drugs and rock n roll but what makes it so different is that, by all accounts, Shep Gordon is one of kindest and most decent people you could ever wish to meet. He’s nobody’s fool and has made a colossal amount of money but says he’s never understood how business can be about winners and loser. In his view, both sides can, and should, walk away happy with what they’ve got from a deal. Supermensch is on Netflix so watch it and be in awe, as I was, of this fascinating man. Then you’ll understand why I’ll always regret not going along – and I could have done – to the Hammersmith Odeon to see this performance from Teddy.
