A British radio institution for the last sixty years though not one I normally listen to. Tonight however, I’ll make an exception since it’s hosted by and starring my old friend Bobby Davro, performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra. I’ve no wish to sound all “Brucie & Tarby” but Bobby Davro is possibly the greatest singer-impressionist this country has ever produced. He really can sound exactly like Frank Sinatra or Tom Jones, as I witnessed when I went along to the Hackney Empire for the recording of this show. Though in the pub next door before he went on, Bobby did remark that love and marriage go together like a horse and water-skis.
Friday night is music night.
