Mark Goodier was never anyone’s favourite DJ. Bland, cheesy and devoid of personality, he was always too unremarkable to either like or dislike. But I think that may have changed. As we know, Tony Blackburn was sacked from Pick of The Pops on Radio 2 for standing up to the BBC in relation to the Savile enquiry. Mark Goodier has now grabbed that gig. Wouldn’t it have been nice if he’d said no? As CEO of a company that make jingles for local radio stations, he hardly needs the money. And now he now looks like the BBC’s lackey, unwittingly aligning himself with a gruesome cover-up. He’s useless too, lacking Blackburn’s chintzy charm. Shame he didn’t play this because I think the whole county might have sung along.
