“Hi”

I’ve just realised that Annie Nightingale is still on Radio 1. And has been for 45 years. Always cool, always out there, she still presents a weekly show in the middle of the night, showcasing new and underground dance music. Apparently she still DJs at clubs and festivals all over the world. She’s 75!! A lot of us remember her best from her Sunday night Request Show on Radio 1 back in the 80s. Already middle-aged, she attained cult status just with the unique way she opened each show. The intro of the first song would play, and at the very last second just before the vocals started, she simply said “Hi”. Try it with this track: Bang on 0:15, say “Hi”. Though after all these years, Annie Nightingale MBE must be sorely tempted to say “Bye”.
