Cheesy, over-matey, artificial and smug, Neil Fox embodied all that’s wrong with commercial radio in this country. He called himself “Doctor” Fox. On his Twitter account he describes himself as “Media bloke, telly fella and bike rider”. The bike is, of course, a Harley. Whenever I saw this short, stout, middle-aged “fella” riding around the West End in his leathers, I never knew whether to laugh or vomit. He was always regarded as a bit of a joke but ultimately harmless. But he now stands accused of four counts of sexual assault. So perhaps he isn’t so nice, matey and harmless after all. The fake persona, the Harley, the ego. We can’t pretend the signs weren’t there. And this track is just too apt to resist.
I never liked him.
