You’ll be familiar with Seal’s vocal version of this. Over-familiar. In fact, you probably never want to hear it again as long as you live. That’s because when it was released in the mid-90s, it was instantly seized upon by every bland, pre-programmed AOR radio station in the country and played over and over and over again. People got sick of it and, by association, sick of Seal too. It wasn’t his fault but the high point of his career was, ironically, what ruined it. However, as a delicate piano instrumental, it sounds quite beautiful. And of course, it’s Mother’s Day. So make sure you give your mum a kiss, or a rose, or both.
At last, I’ve found a way of listening to this tune.
