I’m assuming that, fifty years ago, this meant exactly what it means today. In which case, it was a very saucy proposition. Especially coming from the famously pure and chaste Doris Day who celebrates her 90th birthday today. A true star, still making music in a career that stretches back more than seventy years. As for her squeaky clean image, a grumpy old pianist named Oscar Levant wasn’t convinced: “I knew Doris Day”, he said, “before she was a virgin”
“Make love to me”???
