A recent report claims that Britons are falling behind the rest of the world in basic numeracy skills and Brian has discovered why. Kids, he says, no longer have dartboards on their bedroom doors and that’s why their maths homework is suffering. Darts, he claims, is the quickest route to arithmetical proficiency – requiring lightning-fast adding and subtracting, especially if you’re the one chalking up. And he’s he got a point. I’m sure Michael Gove would agree that a few children scarred by flying darts would be a small price to pay. I should now play a Darts track but even I’m not (quite) that obvious. Instead, let’s have the original version of a very well-known tune.
