That’s a word you seldom see. It’s the female equivalent of misogyny – an ingrained dislike and contempt for men. And like misogyny, it’s horrible. Misandry is the word I’d use to describe the new film version of The Girl on the Train, which I saw at a screening last night. There wasn’t a single sympathetic male character but every female character was either a victim, a heroine or both. Perhaps you think “Yeah, about time too. Men have had it their own way for too long”. Even if you honestly believe that two wrongs do make a right, don’t waste your time or money on this awful film. Just play this song really loud instead.
Misandry.
