Yesterday would have been my parents’ wedding anniversary. They’re no longer around to celebrate it but my mum always insisted that the day they got married in London NW2 it was a “beautiful sunny day”. Anyone who knew her will recall that she was, shall we say, prone to exaggeration – especially if it made a boast more impressive. Since subsequent sixths of Octobers were usually grey, cold and overcast, I couldn’t imagine that their wedding day had been any different. But yesterday, I realised she wasn’t “exaggerating” after all. It was indeed a beautiful sunny day. Sunny enough to play this…..
I didn’t believe my mum until yesterday.
