Hearing this reminded me of the only time I’ve ever met him. I’d taken a client for a drink at Shoreditch House in an attempt to impress him. Just before we left, he went to the loo then Noel Gallagher arrived at the next table. He was sitting on his own, so I introduced myself and said, quite truthfully, that I was a big fan of his work. He was friendly, down to earth and we chatted very briefly about some people we both knew. The client came back and then we left. “Anyway”, I said, “See you, Noel”. “Wow! Do you know him?” the client asked, completely starstruck “Not very well”, I said, not technically lying. He was obviously impressed and immediately gave the me the work I was looking for. So if I ever do see Noel Gallagher at Shoreditch House again, I really should buy him a drink.
