In praise of Vanessa….

I’ve known Vanessa Feltz for years. She has a First in English from Cambridge and is one of the brightest people I have ever met – so much sharper and more articulate than Jeremy Vine whenever she sits in for him on Radio 2. Perhaps she should be presenting Newsnight or Panorama and not prancing around on Strictly but that’s what makes Vanessa Vanessa. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, lives her life with great generosity and elan and throws fantastic parties. Last night she was voted off Strictly, probably much to her own relief. So when she hears this lovely bit of tango, she can now relax and not feel she has to get up and cavort.
