Because if you do, you’ll play it to death and risk killing your love for it in the process. There may be some truth in this but no real music fan would ever be able to show such self-restraint. Except maybe by accident. I bought this single in Dub Vendor in Ladbroke Grove, played it a few times, put it in my reggae box and for about thirty years, completely forgot I had it. So when I chanced upon it yesterday, it was like hearing it for the first time, so my love for it has remained constant. And isn’t it the perfect track for an unseasonally sunny late September evening?
If you really like a record, don’t buy it.
