I work in advertising so claiming credit, however tenuous, comes with the territory. Among the huge successes for which I can claim (just the tiniest sliver of) credit include the Johnny English films, the invention of Innocent smoothies and the entire career of Jack Dee. So it should come as no surprise that I’m now claiming credit for the Rocketman, the Elton John biopic. I’ve known Dexter Fletcher the director from his days as an actor and I cast him many years ago as the voice of McDonald’s. He’s still voicing all their UK TV and radio commercials, so I’m now claiming that it was this hugely lucrative gig that allowed him to embark upon a whole new career as a director. I’m yet to claim any credit for the success of Kate Bush but I’m sure I’ll think of something.
Rocketman and me.
