…..19 year-olds could do that sort of thing back in the day. Renting was easy and cheap so she and her bohemian flatmates used to move across London quite regularly. They took their floor cushions and joss sticks from Earls Court to Belsize Park and then to a barge moored on the Thames near Richmond Bridge. It was called the Fritz Otto Maria Anna. One day they got a call asking if they’d mind lending the barge for a photo shoot to a “pop group” who were recording nearby at Twickenham Studios. They all went off to work that day and thought nothing of it. It was only when somebody showed my sister the photos a few weeks later in The Beatles’ monthly fan magazine that she and her flatmates realised they’d missed a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet the most famous “pop group” in history
