…..is that they grow up. My friend Micky Treasure and I were bemoaning this only the other night. We agreed that one life’s greatest joys is dancing with your daughter when she’s tiny. And one of its great sadnesses is they don’t stay tiny for long. When my daughter was a toddler, I’d get out some old vinyl, scoop her up into my arms and we’d dance round the back room. Although she doesn’t remember it, this rocksteady gem was her favourite. I’ll be picking her up from ballet tonight as I do every Friday. And every week, I wonder whether her serious devotion to dance just might have started with vinyl in the back room.
