But when I arrived to DJ at this rough old pub just off Latimer Road, I could see that this particular bash had little to do with debutantes or homosexuals. It was a firm of low-rent villains and their molls celebrating “a pal” coming out of prison. Still, it was all going well until about 9.30. I had no idea how apt this tune with its chorus “We’ve got this house under arrest” was going to be. As I put it on, armed police burst in to arrest about half the blokes in the hall, including the ex-con who had only just come out. As they were led away and I was told to pack up and go, I thought, “Should I ask for my money? No, probably not”.
I was told it was a “coming out” party….
