“George & Lynne” was a hugely popular cartoon strip in The Sun which ran from the 1970s until relatively recently. George was handsome, masculine and successful – Lynne was his beautiful, dutiful and very sexy wife. Their life was the very acme of suburban aspiration. Big house by the river with “all mod cons”, drinks parties with friends, flash car, plenty of money and, we inferred, quite a lot of sex. In their intimate moments, this would have been the record playing on the “music centre”. Growing up, I used to think George and Lynne were the most glamourous, sophisticated adults in the world. And you know what? I still do.
The ultimate “George & Lynne” record.
