Well, we got bored talking about vegetables.

I was working with a researcher the other night. We were in a house in South London, asking people about steamed vegetables. Not surprisingly, the conversation soon turned to other things including this track. “I’ve got it”, I boasted, “On 12″ pink vinyl”. But the researcher, who really knew his music, trumped that with “Ah, but have you heard the Dr. Dre re-mix?” I love being trumped and I can’t understand anyone who doesn’t. If you get trumped, you not only retain what you already knew but you get some new information too. So now I’m more informed about The Stones’ back catalogue. But not half as informed as I am about consumers’ attitudes to steamed vegetables.
