…. a few years ago on holiday. I recognised “Pat” immediately. Patsy Adams, one of the Adams Family – the most fearsome criminal fraternity Britain has ever known. My wife had no idea. So when I said I was taking our kids to the waterslides, she kindly volunteered me to take their little girl too. Not the sort of responsibility you want though, is it? Taking Patsy Adams’s kid to a waterslide park. Later I told him quietly that I knew who he was but had no interest in his activities and if he’d rather be left alone, that was fine. But no, I’d looked after his daughter, I was now “one of your own”. I recognised him again today on the front page of the Evening Standard. He and Connie are wanted for the attempted murder of a gangland associate. With this and the Hatton Garden robbers, it’s nice to know that traditional London villains are alive and well. Even if some of their enemies aren’t.
My wife was chatting to Pat and Connie, nice couple from Islington….
