I’ve been to America many times but mainly to either the East or West coast. Yesterday, though, I was transfixed by feature in one of the Saturday travel supplements entitled The United States of Adventure. Now suddenly I want to visit every one. I’m gazing at it now, feeling like the wide-eyed child I once was. Never mind North America, I seldom went outside the North Circular. So I need to see my great friend Dean Webb. Unencumbered by kids, Dean and and his wife Jo are always taking off to explore America’s most fascinating nooks and crannies. I’ll call him this week for advice. The only thing I know is that, when the adventure begins and I head out on to that first freeway, this is the tune I’ll be playing.
