Am I allowed to do this?

I don’t mean return to the World’s Shortest Radio Show. I mean play a Gary Glitter trick. We all know what he did and because of the vile nature of his crimes, he’s been airbrushed out of pop history. I’m not condoning those crimes. In fact, I don’t think he can ever be forgiven or re-habilitated. But we can’t pretend that he wasn’t glam rock’s biggest star, or that he wasn’t a terrific showman or that his records didn’t define UK popular culture between 1972 and 1974. So should his tunes be played? I don’t know. Are they be regarded as “inappropriate”? I’ve been away for several weeks so, regardless of the person singing it, this famous track which you’ll probably never hear again on British radio, does feel quite self regardingly apt.
