Mine would be the one I had a few years ago at Pizza Express in Dean Street. I can’t even remember what it was – a margherita, I think – but it was served with a side order of Gregory Porter. This little Soho pizzeria is one of London’s oddities because it is also one of the capital’s foremost jazz venues. I’d gone along with some people who run a music company and had never heard of Gregory Porter. But the moment he began to sing, it was clear that this man was going to be an international star. And so it has proved to be. He now sells out huge concert halls all over the world. But I bet none of them do those little dough balls.
