And my suave teenage son is taking his girlfriend there. He tells me they’ve even got a DJ so I immediately shout “Boom, boom acka lacka lacka boom!” He sighs heavily and looks at me with a mixture of contempt and pity so I explain: “When I was a club DJ in the 80s….” This phrase must sound to him like “When I was in the war….” sounded to me. Nonetheless I tell him about the massive gig I once did at the Natural History Museum. I ask him to imagine a huge sound system, lasers, dinosaurs, a packed dancefloor and this tune. His expression changes but only slightly. “Hmm”, he says grudgingly, “That must have been pretty cool”.
The Natural History Museum is open late tonight
