……the tourists who congregate daily, photographing each other on that famous zebra crossing on Abbey Road. It’s not far from where I live so I’m always narrowly avoiding oblivious people with cameras. They seem unaware that they’re on a busy road in St. John’s Wood, not at Madame Tussaud’s or the British Museum. Abbey Road has one of the most famous album covers ever and, whenever I see it, I think how wonderful it must have been to drive around London in the summer of ’69. No tourists standing on the crossing but more importantly, no yellow lines, no zigzags, no parking restrictions, no speedbumps. Now that really would have been………something.
Sooner or later, I’m going to run one of them over…..
