This isn’t just any track….

A few years ago, I was writing some of those food porn commercials for M&S that always began “This isn’t just any…” and they decided to change the music. They’d used Santana’s Samba Pa Ti for years, wanted something similar but different for their new summer range and I was asked to make suggestions. This was always my first choice. It’s one of those tracks that manage to say “summer” without ever mentioning summer. I’d listen to it on headphones while sunbathing. If I didn’t hate headphones. And sunbathing. So it’s perfect for a day like today when temperatures in London hit 31 degrees. Sadly M&S rejected ZZ Top in favour of True by Spandau Ballet. Though when it was put on the finished commercial, it somehow didn’t ring…
