One New Year’s resolution broken already.

But it was only “This year, I will try to like Bob Dylan”. But I’ve failed again. I just don’t get Bob. I find most of his oeuvre dreary, uninspiring and too “influenced” by Woody Guthrie. Yeah, he made a few great records but so did Hot Chocolate. Still, I thought, it’s probably me who’s the heathen so I decided to upload a good Dylan track and discovered that you can’t. This may be connected to David Geffen’s famous quote that “Bob Dylan is as interested in money as any human being I have ever met” and objects to people listening to his music for free. But he makes a brief appearance on this track and, when placed among the greatest stars in the world, he doesn’t exactly shine. So I’ve revised my resolution to “This year, I won’t even bother with Bob Dylan”
